Alfie’s Dog Rescue – WordPress

Introduction

This website was developed to support a local dog rescue to advertise dogs available for adoption and raise money to fund the rescue. It includes links to PayPal for direct donations and Easy Fund Raising for shopping donations. An e-commerce page allows purchase of selected items from the rescue’s dog treat and dog toy shop, Alfie’s Mutts.

Structure

The homepage introduces the rescue and has links to the fundraising options. The header simply shows the rescue’s logo and a navigation menu to the other webpages on the site.

The Our Dogs page has a colourful list of the available dogs with their details.

The Apply page gives contact details for the rescue and offers several options to submit an adoption application form.

The Contact Us page shows details of various forms of communication including an online form and socials.

The Alfie’s Mutts Shop link leads to the landing page for the shop. Available products from the bricks and mortar shop are listed for purchase. Backend e-commerce pages show account details, shopping basket and checkout options.

Details

The website was developed using the WordPress content management and Onepage theme from Iografica Themes. This is a classic theme that allows easy website structure and styling of content.

Paypal donation link was supplied by Paypal as custom HTML code that can be inserted directly into the webpage.

The application form Word Document can be downloaded from an Easy Media Download plugin.

E-commerce was implemented using plugins from Woocommerce. Woocommerce supply templates for all the required pages and allows connections to popular payment methods inluding Paypal.

The online application form was generated using the JotForm online form builder and is accessed via a custom HTML link.
