Introduction
This website was developed using the WordPress content management system. Its purpose is to be a portal for visitors to Ogmore Valley Websites. It introduces OVW and highlights the services that we offer. Our portfolio shows websites and web apps that we have developed and the technologies that we used to develop them. A contact form allows visitors to message us to start their website journey.
Structure
The website uses the WordPress Twenty Twenty-Five theme that uses the WordPress Full Site Editor to apply styles and templates for each webpage.
The main landing page is a static page containing a hero image, introduction paragraph, service summary and the latest post in each category.
The header block shows the company logo, a navigation menu to the other static and post pages and a call to action button linked to the contact page.
The footer contains the same navigation menu along with links to admin pages.
About Us, Services, Contact and admin pages are also static webpages with their own content. The portfolio and technology sections are served by WordPress posts.
Backend
The website uses the following plugins to add functionality and administration:
- All-in-one Security – Manages security controls
- Optimole image optimisation – Manages images
- Legal Pages – Generates privacy statements, terms and conditions
- LightStart Maintenance Mode – Maintenance mode page
- Google Site kit – Link to Google Analytics to monitor traffic to the site
- Updraft Plus – Backup and Restore
- Yoast SEO – Manage search engine optimisation
